Ultimately discovering which one of the multitude of career options will work for you.
Why is Career Guidance Important?
Career guidance is there to help you meet your match. In what job you want to follow, that is. Choosing a career can be daunting and it’s tricky trying to match your career aspirations, interests, personality, and abilities so that you can build your most successful future. There are so many different ways to go about studying or attaining the skills we need in whatever careers you want to pursue. From going to university to learning though an apprenticeship, everyone is different and what
works for you may not work for me. This is where career guidance comes in. Career guidance can help you zoom in on the career choices that will best suit you and how you can achieve them based on who you are as an individual and how and where you work best. This allows you to be able to make an informed decision about your future.
What is Career Guidance
Career guidance is a deductive process where you undergo assessments in order to determine the fields of work and places of learning that will best you. It leaves you with information about your personality, aptitudes, skills, interests and values helping you to be more secure in what career you may want to pursue in the world of work as well as options for tertiary learning. For students, Grades 11 and 12 were important years when deciding your future career paths. But career guidance is for anyone with any confusion about their career aspirations and can benefit you whether you are leaving high school or feel your career needs a change.
How we can help
Stellies Practice offers individual career guidance assessments for individuals who need assistance with determining what fields of work they would fare well in and where to get the qualifications needed for those careers.
The assessment takes approximately 5-6 hours and is split over 2 days. Once the assessment is completed, the Psychometrist looks at the assessment results and compiles a comprehensive report that outlines what these results mean for you and your future career. A feedback session of 30-40 minutes then takes place where the Psychometrist will go through the report with you and answer any questions you may have.
